Milestoneer

Coming soon

You run the same project every quarter. Set it down once.

Milestoneer turns the way you already work into a template, and turns that template into a live plan: it computes the schedule, shows you the critical path, and tells you when to invoice. Built for agencies and installation firms that run the same kind of project over and over, with different numbers each time.

A Milestoneer project plan: a Gantt chart of phases, milestones and tasks showing the critical path, a baseline ghost, and a lane of invoice moments with amounts along the top.

Why

Time and money on the same axis

In most planning tools an invoice moment is a task with an odd label. Here it is its own thing: it hangs off a milestone, it carries an amount, and it moves when the plan moves. If installation slips a week, the payment moment slips with it and you know today instead of at the end of the month.

What the plan tells you

BLOCKED_BY_UPSTREAM Scaffolding & site setup is waiting on Materials on site, a blocking milestone that was due 30 July.
PIN_CONFLICT Mounting frames is pinned to 6 August, but its predecessors cannot finish before 10 August — two working days short.
DEADLINE_BREACH The plan finishes 13 August, two working days past the agreed deadline of 11 August.

How it works

Three steps, and then it keeps itself current

Step one

You write down how you work

Phases, milestones, tasks, dependencies, invoice moments and reminder rules. With variables in them: number of units, number of review rounds, lead time. Once, not for every project again.

Step two

You fill in the numbers

240 units, two review rounds, twenty days of lead time. Milestoneer turns the template into a real plan with real dates, worked out across your working days and holidays.

Step three

The plan keeps you honest

When something moves, everything downstream moves with it, and you see immediately what it costs in days and what it does to your payment moments. Reminders fire on their own, and stop firing once the thing is done.

The Milestoneer dashboard, with tiles for live projects, open invoice moments, hours logged and overdue milestones, above a list of plan issues.
The dashboard opens with what is wrong, not with what is fine. Open invoice moments, overdue milestones and the project in the worst health sit at the top, because those are the things you can still do something about today.
The Milestoneer template editor showing variables, phases and milestones, with a panel on the right evaluating sample values live.
The template editor evaluates every expression live against sample values, so you see what happens before you publish. A published version is frozen; editing it creates a new one, so projects already running never change under your hands.

Honest about where this stands

Not finished — and here is what is and is not ready

The screens above are real and they work, but today they run on a prototype full of invented projects. The version that holds your own work is being built.

Ready
The scheduling engine. Computing the plan, the critical path, slack, dependencies with lag, and deadline checks.
Ready
The screens. Fully worked out as a prototype, including the Gantt chart above.
Being built
Sign-in, clients and templates in the real application, holding your own data.
Not yet
Invoices and integrations. Invoices will arrive as a PDF you send yourself. Hooking into your bookkeeping is not planned.
